Overall Purpose of the Job
Perform engineering activities within the Industrialisation group to support process and process machine development. The role will involve taking concept designs through detail design, drafting, procurement, manufacture, and commissioning.
The job requires excellent CAD skills and a hands-on approach to assembly and test.
Principal Accountabilities
3D CAD capability to a high standard (preferably SolidWorks).
Project engineering documentation, calculations, electromechanical design and drafting.
Compilation of process machine operation and maintenance manual using 3D exploded views to support written instruction.
Provide SolidWorks admin support for other users (generate project folders in the PDM vault, delete files, add users).
Maintain best practices in use of SolidWorks.
Purchase of parts & ancillary equipment to support the industrialisation operation.
Follow design procedures and implement improvements to process.
Hands on involvement with process machine development, build, testing and commissioning.
Job Challenges
Maintaining clear communications with team members and keeping to deadlines.
Understanding complex equipment requirements and translating into workable designs.
Dealing with multiple urgent requests (to be prioritised by Line Manager).
Learning and developing Magma best practices with regards to drawings and reporting.
Job Knowledge and Experience
Education – Mechanical Engineering Degree
Skills – SolidWorks and other CAD packages, MS Office
Experience – minimum 1 year Industry experience
