Overall Purpose of the Job:
Perform analysis work packages as part of Magma’s internal or customer projects.
Perform local cross-sectional analysis of m-pipe’s® end-fitting and pipe body.
Participate in the development of numerical or analytical models to predict m-pipe’s®
Improve Magma’s understanding of modelling accuracy by correlating models to
measurements taken from testing.
Perform global analysis of subsea systems that use m-pipe® as a component within them.
Provide support to Business Development, by using structural analysis to develop m-pipe®
solutions for the Oil and Gas Industry.
Developing analytical and numerical tools to predict non-linear composite structural performance at high strain levels.
Interpreting m-pipe® test data and using this information to improve modelling techniques.
Using analysis to develop m-pipe® solutions for an industry (Oil & Gas) that is typically unfamiliar with composite materials.
Job Knowledge & Experience
Education – Batchelor’s or Ph.D. in relevant engineering discipline.
Experience – 1-3 years in industry.
Technical Skills – knowledge of the design and analysis of composites structures (required), knowledge of structural analysis techniques (FEA) (required), good report writing skills (required), programming experience in Fortran, MATLAB, VBA or similar languages (desirable), subsea engineering experience (desirable).
Interpersonal Skills – energy and enthusiasm for tackling challenging engineering problems, team player, good communication skills.
